I've never read any of his books and suspect they're aimed at somewhere near the fourth grade level of reading proficiency and third grade level of knowledge of history, but I always found the titles disturbing because they sound like "how to" manuals due to his (over)use of the gerund. Just add "in ten easy steps" to most of his titles and it gets fun: "Killing Jesus in Ten Easy Steps", "Killing Kennedy in Ten Easy Steps", "Killing Lincoln in Ten Easy Steps", etc.
