My volunteer rescue org gets a medical first responder refresher annually, and our medical training officer puts a little warning image of a person covering their eyes on the slide prior to showing photos like that, so that the squeamish among us can turn away.
Many of the 'squeamish' photos are such that we know that if the patient is that badly hurt, they'll be dead before we can get to them. We do cave rescue and most of our patients that have injuries don't even get out a phone call to emergency services until well over an hour after their accident, (someone in their party has to get to at least the cave mouth, and often there's still no service until they get in a car and drive closer to civilization) and then it takes us longer than that to respond and get medical back to them.
