I think it's good for Trump to signal to the world (1) that the US acts when it wants to defend its interests, without warning and to the extent that it wants to, and (2) that use of WMD by anyone will lead to immediate tangible consequences.
On the other hand, Syria is so far from any US interest that I hope we stop with what we did. The whole region isn't worth one more American casualty, and I don't want to see us tying down resources in a place that doesn't matter to us when North Korea poses an immediate and clear danger.
