This brings up an interesting thought.....(off topic) Jeordam Send a noteboard - 23/03/2017 06:06:54 PM

In the US Constitution, we have the right to a firearm. Although not specifically spelled out, we also have the right to move about freely (in the confines of other's property and such things). Obviously at the time, there were no cars/trucks, but there were other modes of transportation that were available for both the standard and wealthy individual. But the right to own and use transportation isn't spelled out.

Probably for the very reason that the whole "liberty" usage kinda makes it an understood point. However the right to own/use that transportation mode doesn't exist. Hence why the government can regulate the ownership/use of those modes of transportation.

However the Framers specifically spelled out guns as a right. Hence why any type of regulation is such a touchy issue. I don't have a "License for Free Speech" card in my wallet, nor do I ensure that I have my "Freedom of Religion" lapel pin on when I go to church.
