My daughter is only 5 years old, so we have a few years, but how should we watch Star Wars and the Middle Earth movies?
STAR WARS:
Movies 1 through 9 in chronological order?
Or based on release date?
Or just ignore the prequels?
MIDDLE EARTH:
Hobbit and then LOTR
Or LOTR first?
I think LOTR and then Hobbit is a pretty easy decision, but I go back and forth on SW.
Important Question - What order of movies for my daughter?

We do not mention the prequels in my 4 year old's hearing. Hoping to avoid it forever if possible.

Go by release date.

How could the LOTR movies be so good and the Hobbit movies.....

In fairness, the LotR movies already had many of the things that people dislike in The Hobbit.

The Legolas skateboard and elephant surfing were the low points of the LOTR movies!

You could probably make a decent single film by going at the trilogy with a hatchet.

Weirdly, Two Towers is the first movie I remember being pissed about.

It would have helped if the dwarves had looked like dwarves
