It was a long, long journey for most of us. For me, I started reading WOT in 1995 as a 20-year old undergrad. Living at home, not a care in the world. I found and joined Wotmania in 2001 or 2002. I was back in school, full-time MBA program, still living at home, and still not a care in the world.
Since Wotmania became a regular part of my life, 15 years have passed. That's a long time, you live life in 15 years! I am now 42 years old, married to a remarkable woman, father to 4-year old daughter that is pure love, and mayor of my hometown.
I have always enjoyed checking in on RAFO after a long day - work is over, dinner done, daughter sleeping. I will miss this so much. But as Q said, all good things must come to an end.
Let's make the next month and change special!
Between those moments, a lot happened, much of which I shared online over the intervening 17 years. But the excitable youth who overshared and consequently overtalked about himself has changed into someone a bit more private and circumspect in some regards. I don't regret my experiences, harsh as some of them were. I've lived many lives, including some online, during those years and I like to think I have learned to be of better service to others. Perhaps I'll find out in the next few decades if this ends up being the case.
Je suis méchant.
