I have no problem with the "whining" Larry Send a noteboard - 21/11/2016 07:19:55 AM

Just like I didn't have any problem with protests/complaints online and in the real world after each and every national election. Voicing disapproval in hopes of influencing decisions (or at least venting and making it known that there is displeasure) is a time-honored American tradition that goes back to the 17th century.

But I'm guessing it isn't that people are making vocal complaints that's bothering you. The protests and calls for general strikes might be a bit more aggressive, but again, that too has been something done by the American people along the political spectrum for centuries. Sometimes, good comes from it (women's suffrage, 40 hour work week, overtime rules, pension plans, collective bargaining) and, yes, occasionally something bad as well. But I don't begrudge citizens their rights to petition and to assemble peacefully. I might disagree quite strenuously with their ideals (such as the Tea Party rallies of 2009-2010), but hey, they voiced their opinions in such a way that change was enacted (not the change that I myself would prefer, but hey, it was in part at least voiced by citizens united by a cause and not just corporate bodies, no?).

Perhaps there will be some moderation of plans by the incoming Trump administration due to this that might benefit most, if not all, Americans. At the very least, at least there are people exercising their constitutional rights (just as you are exercising yours by expressing your annoyance with them ).
