"What has she done that makes her such a great candidate for president?" I ask.
"She was a lawyer!" they say. My answer, so what? So are millions of other people. What did she do as a lawyer? Nothing of note!
"She was a wonderful first lady!" they shout. My answer: you think? What did she do as first lady besides (as you point out) torpedo the 1994 elections for her party?
"She was a Senator!" they screech. My answer: and yeah? Winning an election for senator (especially a "safe seat" is not an accomplishment. What did she do as senator? Not what she said, but what did she do? Did she champion some bill that was a great triumph? She did nothing that any other senator has done and much less than most. She was back-bencher with a spotlight who accomplished nada.
"She was Secretary of State!" they howl. My answer: you're fucking kidding me, right? Being appointed Secretary of State is not an accomplishment. What did she do as Secretary of State that is so remarkable? Nothing! Her record is awful as SoS. Her main accomplishment was to turn the SoS office into a pay-for-play cash machine for her husband and corrupt foundation while flouting as many laws as she thought she could get away with.
The only thing that matters to many people, unfortunately, is that she has a vagina and will seek to expand the state at any cost. Yay, her.
