Two Things, Bush 41 (Father Bush) Signed NAFTA not Bill Clinton, Second I am a big Miss Piggy fan, she is one of my favorite muppets

Though technically negotiated under Bush 41, the treaty was ratified and signed under Clinton (ratification was intentionally held up by Congressional Dems so he could do it) and it was a MAJOR campaign issue in the election (both major party candidates supported it, opposition to it was the platform plank that Perot used to gain national notice throwing the election to Clinton).

begins a little tease

Turns out you actually need to have some preparation to understand a complex issue before you can talk about it at a debate?

end tease

You are correct , NAFTA was negotiated during Bush Sr term, the words on the treaty were agreed upon, it was signed it a big hoopla see picture

But it was not implemented until each legislative body approved the final language. The US house and senate approved it 11 months later (132 republicans, 102 democrats in the house and 34 republicans and 27 democrats), President Clinton signed it 2 weeks later due to the Thanksgiving break, and it was then implemented on Jan 1, 1994. Before Clinton signed NAFTA they added (him and the canadian and mexican presidents) two additional agreements that modified NAFTA increasing / clarifying labor and environmental rules. North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation and North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation.

But yeah you are correct My original post was just a little humor, but also pointing out things are not cut and dry yet that is missed in presidential debates, yet you can accuse your opponent in the debate with the most horrible things based off misleading comments such as the stuff involving NAFTA.

Aka it is easy to throw things.
