There seems to be a lot of "we were fine with it when it only harmed or was directed against other groups but now that it's turned against us, it's suddenly bad and someone should do something about it! We're special because Holocaust!"

For a certain segment of Jewish society, the Holocaust was the best thing to ever happen to the Jewish people. As a famous Jewish comedian once said, "There's no business like Shoah business."
-boohoo, Nazis were bad for doing awful things to protect their racial identity and homeland. But condemning us for doing those same things (things we never shut up about how evil they are) is mean and makes us feel bad!

-boohoo, we support the Left, which supports the idea that trying to preserve European ethnic groups' identity and culture is evil, unnecessary, and racist....but why won't they understand how much we need to preserve our ethnic identity and culture!

This is particularly risible. All of the arguments back on forth as to the degree to which this comparison applies are annoying and obnoxious. Traditional values advocates were appalled at the intertwined racial and national chauvinism that arose under the progressive banner over a hundred years ago, and were told to shut up and get with the program, stop clinging to outmoded ideas and being old-fashioned, this was the wave of the future, blah blah blah. And that stuff led to its inevitable outcome, and an all new and supposedly much improved set of ideas were deemed the new orthodoxy, and traditionalists were STILL being told to shut up and adjust, except now they were tarred with the brush of the very ideas to which they had objected. Recall that the KKK was none too thrilled about the more traditional and organized Christian religions, in spite of their theoretical Christianity, and "separate but equal" was a Progressive policy, designed to protect blacks from white competition (they can't help their shortcomings, Darwinism showed that they were less evolved).

To a certain extent, the Jews have a point. They have the right to protect themselves and their group...just like everyone else does. But they seem to think they're a special case, and other peoples' rights are racist and jingoistic nonsense. I'm fine with Israel doing whatever they feel works for them in Israel, as long as they don't expect us to pay the bill, or fight their battles for them. They are the only nuclear power in the Middle East. Why on earth is their security a problem with which anyone else needs to concern themselves? If they don't like the idea of Iran with nukes, let THEM bomb the facilities or offer concessions to get them to dismantle their centrifuges. I have no idea why I am supposed to worry when people talk about various Middle Eastern dictators' stated intention to push Israel into the sea.

Double standards suck

I find them highly entertaining.
