Fighting human nature is typically a waste of time and humans like to label things. It is how our brain works and efforts to get people to stop labeling things is a complete waste of time. You have to teach them to look past labels.

I do not believe in fighting human nature, nor do I believe I am advocating anything that can be called fighting human nature.

Our brain are hard wired to create sterotypes, not just on race but on all information.

But stereotypes are merely templates, and human nature is capable of adding far more information and a better understanding of anything we have turned into an object and a name.

The only question is when are we satisifed, do we want to live in our little bubble and do not use our human abilities to use fellow feeling (some people call this the cognitive form of empathy, but Adam Smith was correct it has to do more with sympathy and shared common interests), and combine that fellow feeling with mentalization, (what most people call the affective form of empathy) mentalization is being able to see yourself in a 3rd person view, acknowledge your feelings but also put them aside for a moment and then try to visualize yourself in another person shoes and live a life that is not your own for a few seconds to get a reality check but also realizes different ways of seeing the situation and thus different ways to attack problems to yield better results.

Human beings are our instincts and that is not a bad thing, but we are also our ability to imagine and visualize things beyond our sensory experiences and what our instincts want us to do. Part of building a conservative society, though perhaps a better word for this is Tory society where you find a way to organize society to make showing our angelic side more natural and automatic, and find ways not to banish our other parts of our human nature but to make sure our inner demons do not consume us or others.

My Grandparents were migrant farmers and they pulled my mother out of school in the 8th grade to work in the fields. My dads family mined coal at night and worked farms during the day. I understand the plight of the farmer and the working poor. We just disagree on how to help them not if they should be helped.

Who brought up the working poor? I think you are reading stuff into my comments that are not there.
