I've seen a lot of people on FB leaping onto the Bowie bandwagon to seem cool or whatever. If more than a very small percentage of them even knew before he passed that he had an album come out last Friday, I'd eat your hat. If he was sooooo important to them, you'd think they'd have known that. So many posers.
But, yes, a few decent songs and a great cultural impact, but nothing, in my never-to-be-humble opinion, that merits a lot of the "grief" I've seen over his death. I'm sure it is sincere for a lot of people, but not anywhere near the number of people who want it to seem sincere.
And, yes, Rickman was awesome.
