There are things you can't learn from reading your papers, Tom. Especially not in the ones that already support your political stance in the first place. My point being: You don't live here. You don't know any Turks from here, you especially don't know any Syrians or other refugees that came here. I meet and work with both somewhat regularly. We're fine. And we will remain fine unless the right wing nutjobs get back to power. Which won't happen, because they may be a loud and obnoxious bunch feeding off the fear of decent people who are just misguided and worried right now, but they're also just dumb hicks. All of them.
Of course there are parts of bigger cities that are not as well integrated as they could be. Of course, there could be better controls right now about who's coming. But, a bullet in our brains? Absolute rubbish. The Syrian garbage collector who has met a decent reception here and knows his folks are safe around him is not as likely to join ISIS as the guy who gets pushed back out at the border, that's for sure.
