I don't think Assad cares much about what's going on with Israel right now, nor will he be strong enough or stable enough to risk a war with Israel at any time in the near future (and by near future I mean at least 5 years). A stronger Iran actually distracts all players in the region from anti-Israeli rhetoric. And it makes the Saudis and Egyptians more likely to ally with Israel to ensure Iran doesn't become overly strong.
