My objection is solely to the use of the statistics in the subject of Cannoli's post as an indication that, to quote, "it doesn't happen a lot more". When looked at proportionally, it's clear that it does actually happen a lot more; twice as much, using the figures in your earlier post.

I have nothing to contribute to the wider discussion, and intentionally steered clear of commenting on the whys and hows. It's obvious that the percentage of people in a particular group killed by cops closely matches the number of people in that group who are arrested; I didn't say otherwise. All I wanted to comment on was that the "what", the stats in question, were being used in a misleading way.

It's all my fault...
