Seriously...I never keep up with politics and in voting, I'd be choosing the person solely with whom I share the same general party views (Republican or Libertarian). I don't know any specific persons policies or what they'd change. If I don't vote, I'd allow more "knowledgeable" people to decide the system. If I do, I'm possibly hurting the system by just blindly choosing someone.
So, all that said, can someone give me a good reason (besides people fought for this right!) to actually vote despite my lack of knowledge?
Seriously, that was his response to losing the Senate. He says he hears the voters who ousted his party from leadership of the Congress, but he also hears the 2/3 of voters who did not vote, and on their behalf, he's just going to go right ahead and do what he wants anyway. However, he generously has expressed a willingness to work with Mitch McConnell if the GOP will agree to help his agenda.
To your point though, refraining from voting if you don't know enough make an informed decision sounds sensible and rational.
