His Quarterback rating is 100.5 which ties him for 4th in the league and much higher if you take the that first game when he was still playing hurt.
I know that if you hear something said enough times you just assume it must be true but reality doesn't always play along. Why are his mistakes so unforgettable? Magical thinking, if you think something is true things that reinforce that idea standout and things that disagree get forgotten. The media's hyper focus his m8istkes do not make his mistakes more grievous. If Brady throws a fourth qtr pick we ignore because we "know" he is great.
I think your example proves my point. Lets look at the often sited example of Romo's failing as a QB. The simple fact that you are referring to play where he was in the game as a place holder and not a QB should be an indication of the weakness of your argument. It was his starting year where he took a team that had only been to the playoffs once in the previous six to the playoffs despite the fact they had a losing record when he took over the team. He drove down the field for what should have been the winning field goal and even when he missed the ball placement he still had the mental presence to pick it and come within inches of diving for the winning score.
The only thing to be learned from the constant criticism of Romo is the poor quality of sports media and lack of any true depth to your average sport fans understanding o f the game. If you don't understand why Romo is a damn good QB you simply don't understand football.
