But that's not going to stop me. Hey guys.
I would love to see the site reinvented. Wotmania was a great community. RAFO in ye earlye days was a great community. Great, independent communities have dwindled on the internet specifically because of social media. Everyone congregates on the mega sites, everything is conglomerated in Groups and Circles and Followers and hashtag "parties" and what have you. It's been a meteoric rise of a new way to interact over the past decade, but I've noticed a LOT of my friends getting tired of it. Facebook has evolved from a good way to stay in touch and have fun to a life draining, data driven parasite. (Not to say wotmania wasn't my pre-MySpace/Facebook time sucking crack, but I was younger then.)
I know I haven't been involved at all in the past four years, but there's something here, or there has been. It brings me back about once a year to lurk and look around. I think about what this community was. I think about the people I met back then, online friends that became real life friends. I think it could be salvaged if the model evolved. It could be a bigger, greater community again, and I like some of the ideas mentioned above.
My two cents, screaming in from left field. I'd like to see the site rise again, and I would not in the least mind being some small part of it.
