of the point made in the other thread about how it makes little sense to claim credit like this for the glorious deeds of your ancestors, while refusing all responsiblity for, or even connection to, the ugly ones, such as the institutional racism.

And then, you know, the Brits did also do a big part of the fighting, and to a lesser extent other allies. Which is not to deny the Europeans owe the US a debt for that, just to put said debt into perspective.

Other than all that, yeah, interesting article.
