I'm in my third year of a four year degree in Electronic Engineering. It's actually my fourth year on the course as I failed some classes in second year and had to repeat them last year. I can safely say that was not a fun experience. I wasn't able to get a job to occupy my time so I ended up spending a lot of time just stewing on my own in my house watching tv. Things were really rough for a while. The only things that I really gave a crap about were the clubs and societies in my university. My handful of classes each week and meeting my friends on at events on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights were the only reasons I left the house. I was pretty numb to the world for a while.
This year is much better but I haven't completely gotten back in to the swing of regular life. While I am smart I've never been the best student. I coasted through school and never really learned how to study properly. As such I had trouble handling my workload when I got back into fulltime classes this year and my end of semester exams didn't go great. I'll probably have to resit one or two exams over the summer.
Still, I'm much more happy and engaging with life a lot better now.
The current plan is to finish my degree next year and probably go travel for a while.
