The house passed a bill to fund the govermnent but the democrats chose to shutdown the government becase it doesn't fund a bill the left was able to shove through during the brief window where they controlled both houses. Sorry but all the hair pulling and hyperbole does change that. Obama is OK with shutting it down as long as the press keeps the blame on republicans. In fact he is going out of his way to make it as painfull as possible. This may backfire on him.
