To be fair, they only have a terrorist ATTITUDE; the GOP coup attempt has been non-violent. - Edit 1

It is no less literally a coup attempt for that though, as summarized in the below linked article, which concludes

The fact that a major party could even propose anything like this is a display of astonishing contempt for democratic norms. Republicans ran on this plan and lost by 5 million votes. They also lost the Senate and received a million fewer votes in the House but held control owing to favorable district lines. Is there an example in American history of a losing party issuing threats to force the majority party to implement its rejected agenda?

As to the rest, maybe I should add you to the two quasi-political groups I stumbled into on FB? They are less monolithic and more of a cross section, so more like wotmania used to be (except that Americans exclusively comprise both.) It is mostly libertarians and Libertarians, with a leavening of partisan loyalists, dash of radicals and a token acolyte of the FSM as well as a token acolyte of Alex Jones (though, after several months patient effort, I seem to have talked him off his ledge, and deserve a medal for that.) Radical trolling is not uncommon, but not the standard either, and there are plenty of intelligent substantive discussions representing diverse views.

Just a thought. It is ironic the CMB has reached this nadir after dart_board disavowed wotmanias on the grounds it was dominated by the liberal elite.
