I think the PNF did a lot of good for Italy, and would have continued to do so had it not aligned itself and attempted to transform itself into Nazism.
That's why I say before the racial laws (or pre-1938 if you prefer). Before all that racist nonsense, the PNF was awesome. Afterwords, my values and that of the PNF cease to link up.
I'm not sure what other movement I'd support from history given the chance if the PNF were to be taken out of the equation. I know for a fact that, in Caesar's Civil War I'd have sided with Pompey, Cato, and the Senate against Caesar. Then after that I probably would have sided against Marc Antony and with Octavian.
In the Risorgimento, I probably would have fought against Garibaldi, first in defence of the Kingdom of Naples and then (assuming I lived that long) for the Pope.
I think now I'm going off on a bit of a tangent, so I'll stop.
