It seems fairly pointless, yes, and Greg is onto something when he points out that it's narcissistic to feel that a debate can't possibly be finished until you have added your opinion to it. But how is it rude, or does it negatively affect anyone? If anyone feels like reading Joel's posts in old threads and maybe replying to them, what's wrong with that? It probably won't do much in terms of reviving the board, but it doesn't harm it either.

This board and the rest are dead enough. I fear without a handful of people it would be completely dead. And the powers that be refuse to do what needs to be done to resuscitate it - namely combine the boards into one or at least into two so that people interact with one another. One for media - books, games, tv shows, movies. And one for community. One would be better.
I see, like a herpes outbreak, Joel has returned

Not entirely the same: Herpes only affects things that are ALIVE.

You could also compare it to the return of the Black Death in 1360, but that would flatter him. *NM*

You're underestimating RPG board figures

Fair enough; its nature will always make it anomalous regardless.

Yes, that is annoying and speaks to a huge amount of narcissism on his part.

Well, y'know, I was trying to abide by the agreement we are not speaking, lest I be rude.

In fairness to him, I can't say I see how necro-ing old threads is "rude".
