How can so many conservatives (or pretty much all of them since they are so partisan it is ridiculous, though the liberals are too) be both pro-life and pro-gun. This just baffles me. The best I can come up with is that they have decided it is not okay to knowingly kill someone who hasn't had a chance at life, but when you accidentally kill someone who has established a life (whether good or bad) then it isn't really a big deal. I mean, is this right, or am I just missing something?

I mean, that is how it always wherever virtually everyone has a gun, and always has, right? It is not as if Mideast and Central American residents regularly shoot each for any reason or noe. Or like the legitimacy of local governments even in the Old West was routinely determined by shoot outs.
The logic seems to be that it is OK to kill people who deserve it (and never mind how subjectively that is often determined.) Same way most "pro-life" people can defend the death penalty just as ardently. I run hot and cold on the Roman Catholic Church, but I will give it that much: When the Pope says he is pro-life, he means uniformly. I wish I could say the same for all US Catholics.
