you may have heard about her speech at the UN headquarters in New York last week. What's more interesting, though, is that a leading figure of the Pakistani Taliban, whose organisation committed the murder attempt that converted Malala from a Pakistani celebrity into a global one, also heard about it, and decided to write her a letter (yes, in English). Curious to say the least, but actually rather interesting, I thought, as a more direct view of Taliban ideology and views than most of us tend to get in the media. There are even a few fair points here and there, amid all the non-sequiturs. Though really nothing that answers the key question of "how do you justify trying to assassinate a 15-year old school girl?".
