Well, I'd hardly call my wife 'barely not a child' given that she's nearly 30. She is certainly a very attractive woman, but I don't see that as a bad thing.



We both know you have baggage about this matter from your past and it's been discussed. You can deny it if you like, but you're certainly not fooling me.

In truth, I do tend to prefer people younger than myself not just for partners but as friends. (Yes, guys too). The reason for this is, quite simply, I'm not a stodgy middle aged guy. I'm not boring and trudging along the daily rut to my grave trying to live my life through my kids. Those folks I hang out with who ARE my age are also those who are full of life and fun. We play games and sports and have a great time. We don't drink to excess but we aren't afraid to yak about the newest HALO game or what cool new model has come out or how last week's martial arts tournament went.

Try and find that with your average mid forty something of either gender in the regular populace. It ain't easy.

Heck, my boss is one year younger than me, and I do like him, but he's ground down so much by life that if you stick us next to one another he looks ten years older.

Basically, I hang with people that I have things in common with and while I have dated folks my own age finding ladies who haven't grown dull and boring is extremely difficult (the same goes for guys). And of course there is the added difficulty that the lady has to have managed to remain attractive, which is much tougher as you get older (for us guys too - I have to work pretty hard at not being a blimp these days).

As to your view of it being 'desperate' that's kind of funny. Landing an attractive desireable partner for whom there is lots of competition is a whole lot tougher than settling for any desperate housewife up the road. That's true regardless of actual age.



Lots of older women date younger men, whether exclusive or not, who cares? There are entire 'cougar bars' with exactly that theme. It's not gender specific, just generally somewhat more socially acceptable for some. As to Demi, I've no idea who she was dating nor do I care. She's happy and her hubby's happy and really, that's all that matters.
