You basically just wrote a spiteful narrative lambasting conservatives. I already demonstrated that on the Meta-Index Ranagrande supplied the US scores very high and even #1 if you prioritize the weighting on the freedoms most conservatives consider more vital and deprioritize the ones they care less about, e.g. gun rights vs drug rights, and pointed out the extra freedom that comes from living in a military-economic giant that doesn't have to take external conquest as a very realistic option.
The rest of what you said was just liberal talking points and proclamations, not proof or reason. "It's not their fellow Americans. According to most conservatives, most of their fellow Americans are lazy, just wanting to get by based on what the government will get them." isn't actually an argument, its just a remark, the same as if I said most liberals think their fellow Americans are stupid and selfish.
You didn't like his post, fair enough, I didn't like it either, I loathe these sorts of polls almost as much as those pandering stupid studies that try to prove the right/left is smarter/kinder/wiser/etc. But your reply was worse, there was no reason and thought there, just angry bile. The poll proved nothing we didn't already know, in the current times conservatives tend to be more vocally patriotic. Although it was actually republicans vs liberals that had the gap, conservatives only slightly beat out democrats, meaning presumably non-liberal democrats beat non-republican conservatives. That's not new, any citizen might have a flag outside their house but we know that it tends to be a bit more common for republicans. You had a lot of perfectly civilized counter-arguments you could have made, you opted not to got that route and went the absurd one of trying to show patriotism is tied to government loyalty in terms of policy, which no one believes, sure as hell wasn't the case for the left during the Bush terms.
