As bad as Morsi was, I trust the army even less. And I haven't seen any serious justification for the coup, against, let's not forget, a more or less democratically elected leader. The way forward for Egypt lies in subjugating the army, not in having it overthrow legitimate governments, popular or not.

I'd rather have a military dictatorship than a religious fundamentalist state. If the army is the only control on religion, go army.
As for the people of Egypt, I have no idea what they want, and will let them sort it out themselves. I am after all, merely an observer in my ivory tower, and am happy to keep it that way.
