.....dynamic of international adoptions (and likely others as well). We are lucky that our daughter is very young. Transition issues are more likely to happen with children 2.5 years old and up. Also, this is the first big change for our daughter. She was given up at birth and has been in the same institution all of her life. Children that "bounce around" from institution to foster parents to another set of foster parents are most likely to reject her adoptive parents.
View original postWhile it is no secret that you and I do not always get along ideologically, nothing but prayers and wishes for you in this. My little sister was a foreign adoption and an absolute nightmare for the first year, but once she had acclimated (and realized my father was far more easily manipulated with a sweet smile than with anger) she became what she is now, my sister, full stop.
