Even so, people can't just play the "colonialism" card as a means of abdicating personal responsibility. There are a few countries in Africa and Asia that always complain about it, while others just focus on developing and improving things.
The simple fact is that the vast majority of Muslims are intolerant by our standards (see the latest Pew survey on sharia, apostasy and how many have non-Muslim friends), and a significant minority are violently so.
