Sure, its not a Jackie Robinson story, or anything like that. No gay kids grew up watching him play and therefore thinking; "Hey, I could do that, too."

But its always hard to be the first. Maybe someone else will come out sooner, next time. Maybe someone will take the plunge and come out before being drafted, and give us the feel good story you're apparently craving.

Now that someone else has been the first, that may be easier. Who knows, we'll see. But it's good that it happened, regardless of his motives.
