I just call 'em like I see 'em. Joel Send a noteboard - 30/09/2009 10:16:18 PM
I was merely curious about on what he was basing his statement that Dallas has better defense.

The problem is that despite a lot of talent, they have no discipline thanks to Jerry. Dallas is a revolving door of Jerrys pet projects, hired guns and coaches who take the blame when the first two can't deliver in the playoffs. They can be fun to watch if you don't get too attached or expect too much; it's hard for a team to develop much work ethic when they know the owner will always have their back against League and coaching discipline, and that the coaches will be gone soon anyway, either because they don't do exactly as Jerry says and accept the personnel choices he foists on them, or because they get tired of doing so.

So, yeah, Dallas SHOULD beat us, unless we really are as good as our numbers against average (at best) teams make us look, but whether they will is anyones guess. They should've beat the Giants when they had the best record in the League and had already swept them in the regular season, but in the immortal words of Rudy, "Never underestimate the heart of a Champion. "

From where I sit the one with the constant woody here is the one who always has an excuse why the game doesn't count against them when his team loses but won't hesitate to point to even weak wins against weak teams as evidence of their greatness. Do you see me patting Denver on the back for pounding Oakland and Cleveland? Don't get me wrong, I really do hope Dallas manages to beat a team that has a win of their own this season--just not this week (which might mean it could take a while; the Chefs are winless, too. )
