So, there's this girl on parallel course that I'm sort of interested in. The thing is, I've never been interested in anyone beoynd the level of "Huh, she looks good" and am rather lost on what to do about this. I don't really know her but we've spoken from time to time. I'd like to get to know her better, but on the social interractions scale of smooth to akward, I fall firmly in latter category, and would prefer to atleast stay at the acquaintance/occasional pal situation even if nothing comes out of it.

How interested is one supposed to be for any chance of anything coming out of it? How should I approach getting to know her better? This is rather confusing for me since I've just recently realised that I'm interested in her in the first place (I didn't apply for student union orientation for the next year because of work, but I learned I would have been chosen had I applied. [I tried to apply late, but that wasn't possible]. I'm dissapointed a)because it could have been fun and b)because she's in the orientation program.)
