It has been three years; grudges that long are only appropriate when blood has been spilled. - Edit 1

View original postI do think Mike did some shitty things towards the end. And like Anastasia once said, it's heart breaking that one person can just up and end a part of your life that was so wonderful for such a long time. People don't get over that easily.

The main thing I take issue with was placing so much of wotmanias legacy and future in Jasons hands, when most wotmaniacs joined the site precisely because they did NOT want to join DM. Still, I think I understand why: He was TRYING to give us an out the only way he could think of, so his motives were benign even the execution left much to be desired. Things would likely have been much smoother for all had he broached wotmanias end with wotmania first rather than Jason (and of course I am not privy to any discussions that might have transpired with Admins on the TMB or elsewhere,) but I think he was trying to avoid all of us running around in a desperate panic like decapitated chickens. It was not perfect, and could have been better, but was well intended, so I cannot be angry, just sad.

Fact is, he always had the power to end that wonderful part of our lives; we placed it in his hands by signing on for the ride on what was always his boat. Kind of like all the people who complain about FB claiming ownership of anything and everything they post; had Zuckerberg chosen to pull the plug rather than go public they would be SOL, and still would be if the new board or whatever running FB decided to close up shop tomorrow. I hear what you are saying, quite well, but if rage is a natural companion to grief it is wrong to let grief at wotmanias end become rage at the creator who did NOT kill it, but accepted its unpreventable death when the rest of us would not.

By the way, I have not forgotten I still owe you one of the shirts (or whatever) I mentioned, but need your new address to send it. I guess I could just bring one along the next time we visit, but that kind of presents the same problem. :P
