it's how much the malpractice insurance IS. Even for vets it's a reasonable chunk of change--I can't imagine what it is for doctors.

A doctor has to balance his expenses and income in order to eat, correct? Correct. If he has to pay malpractice, he raise his income which derives from his prices (thus his prices go up). The more malpractice is (and it's quite high), the more his prices need to go up (I'm assuming is other expenses are relatively fixed compared to "yes" and "no" malpractice). ECON101, dude.

And your comparison to car insurance makes zero sense, because the driver has nothing to do with setting the retail price of the car (beyond marketing influences). Logic. Fail.
