Its okay, the magical time travel cats saved the books...
they traveled back in time when it was obvious the books were going to be destroyed anyway, saved them, and whisked them to the future. They purposefully made it seem the books were destroyed, for before the intrusion of the time travel kitties the books were destroyed, thus saving the books by bringing them to the future would not cause a time paradox.
