Hence we end up debating whether and how much Obama is responsible for the US fiscal 2008 budget (which ended 1 October, 2009, the same month US unemployment peaked.) Who is right and wrong no longer depends on data or facts, but which side one prefers, so debate is obsolete. In a post-factual world, naught remains but biased opinions, and debating those is an exercise in futility.
