I don't even get how you can run down this lady and call her a coward. I swear its like this event so punctures certain narratives that it has to be vilified at all costs.
Well, she wasn't really. I was being overly aggressive trying to make my point. My point is, though, that a different outcome very likely could have happened. Further, I feel she did do things wrong. And whether or not this man deserved to get shot in the face, he likely did, that doesn't mean he likely should have. It was preventable from the sounds of things. I think it sets a very bad precedent to make this woman out to be all that heroic. What happens when it's teenagers breaking in in a situation like this? Teenagers do it, for right or wrong, as a prank. They should be punished often more severely than they are. But should they be shot in the face? This woman likely had no idea whether it was a kid or not breaking into her house. She can't even be certain that harm would have come her way. She was overly afraid because she's conditioned to be so and that lead to what is "luckily" a "heroic" event.
Your mom. That's right. The cat is out of the bag. Your mom.

Story can be fiction or non-fiction, and that's an irrelevant point anyway, Apollo 13 was real

You're right--nothing can be good if a better situation might have hypothetically been possible
