They may go far; they have already beaten most of the top NFC playoff teams. Joel Send a noteboard - 03/01/2013 05:55:19 PM
Even if the victory over Green Bay was somewhat dubious (and will surely be much on their minds if Seattle heads to "the Frozen Tundra" next week.) Of course, the one big exception is the #1 seed, and the Seahawks will not be in their climate controlled dome if they face the '49ers and/or Packers again this year. For that matter, they will not be there against the 'Skins, but that should be a winnable, if not automatic, game. After that it will get hard, '07 Giants or '05 Steelers hard.

Honestly, I think Denver is the team to beat right now, and the Super Bowl could well be a rematch of SB XXIV (which is ominous to me, because that was the most lopsided Super Bowl in history.) The way free agency has decimated the ability to build, let alone maintain, a dynasty I doubt we will see many more teams like the Cowboys and Bills in the early '90s, the '49ers in the '80s or Cowboys and Steelers in the '70s. Therefore, much like last year, I am betting on the few teams who bring a WHOLE team rather than just a great offense trying to compensate for moribund defense (or vice versa.) That is pretty much Denver or (maybe) SF.

It looks very likely the Seahawks will play Atlanta in the second round and, if they win, Green Bay in the Conference Championship. Since I do not think those three teams could muster a single playoff calibre defense between them, the over/under on both those games could reach triple digits. :P

May your teams fair well in the playoffs.

Thanks; most need all the help they can get.

Either way, may the coming year be uniformly kind to you; best wishes. :)

And you too.

Thanks.
