But, really? Guns aren't meant to disable, injure, or stun opponents, they're meant to kill them. I can't really condemn the use of guns for self-defense, but I can't whole-heartedly support it either.
...rather than kill. Taking care of wounded soldiers are more of a drain on the enemy's resources than burying them is. But that is rather an aside.
At least, this is how it was represented to me during military service a decade ago.
