As anyone who has taken ANY form of martial arts or self-defense training (or anyone with even a modicum of common sense) knows, if you are not aware of a threat, you can not defend yourself from it.
I agree. The gun wasn't an efficient tool for her because she was sleeping. Also, it wasn't in her hand, but in her son's hand. The guns didn't protect her.
But, surely, more guns in schools will protect the children better.
