Cars require training, certification and licensing, too; why should guns not? Joel Send a noteboard - 22/12/2012 08:25:43 PM
Car accidents kill way more people than guns. Should we stop driving? There are risks in this world that we just have to live with. Leaving the house is a risk we take everyday.

Licensing standards are higher for cars than for mopeds, too, and those for semis higher still, because unqualified/irresponsible is correspondingly more dangerous. Though debating whether any guns should be legal is a far broader topic than the NRA proposal to put cops in schools (and one with plenty of existing threads.)
