Compared to last time, it seems a number of countries have decided to tone things down just a tad, while others decided to double down. There's a couple that are actually quite pretty, a couple that are plain boring, but the majority of the designers has a better grasp of the purpose of this show, and went all-out for unwearable horrors. Props to Team GB for successfully proving the point (at least, that's what I assume they set out to do) that a simple enough costume can be every bit as ghastly as the worst of the Rio Carnaval costumes. And to team Belgium for getting their own national flag wrong (but then what do you expect in a country where the PM, upon being prompted to sing the national anthem, starts singing that of a neighbouring country?).

Also, I want Miss Thailand's hat. Helmet. Whatever it is.
