i had something to say but Rebekah said it way better, and included that nifty graph. so, stick with that and find one you like 
i will say, if you have the budget for it, that Highland Park 18 year old is a damn fine scotch but comes in at around $100+ per bottle. it's not the most expensive one out there, but it's arguably one of the best you will drink. it's not on Rebekah's chart that i can find, but do try it at least once if you can
