In the case of OH, the attempt was intended for next week anyway, as the Secy. of State opened each provisional ballot to determine legitimacy and sorted them thus:

"One for Romney, goes in the Romney pile; one for Obama, goes in the incinerator...."

Since the consequences and likelihood of getting caught would have been great, and fixing both FL AND OH would not have changed the presidency, it is not surprising state officials did not follow through on pointless but felonious election tampering. Canceling early voting, tampering with voting machines at the last minute, purging minority voters, demanding photo ID in violation of a court order and all the rest are ample prove of election tampering attempts, however ineffectual.
