When Obama got re-elected the coal industry, which is absolutely under attack, had to accept it had four more years of siege and a different climate then it would under Romney. No point delaying things and wasting money. Now, an environmentalist can justify this as a necessary evil but it doesn't change that it's happening. You can't pretend you can shackle an industry for the good of all and it doesn't hurt someone. A green might believe it justified, just like a hawk might thing a surgical strike on a murderous dictator is, and it may well be true, that doesn't change that there's collateral damage.
