But as mentioned above, coal would be in a secular decline even without tighter regulations. The abundance of natural gas is a strong factor, and the economy in China is another.
ANR wil still be in business despite all of these factors because they mine metallurgical grade coal, which will continue to have demand. Personally, I can't stay away from these stocks for short term gains. Sure I've taken some lumps over the past year, but they move so quickly. ANR in particular, can be played from a chart only analysis for some quick gains.
