Do you think she'll run? She'll be 69, and the only other person to be elected President that old was Reagan, who was also 69. I think I'd like her to run too, but I wonder.
If she does the full eight years as Secretary of State, the way she's doing it now, she'll have more relevant experience than most other candidates, the public will have had more time to forget about her less popular actions during Bill's presidency, and she'd have semi-incumbency advantage as long as Biden doesn't run as well. And there'll be still more desire then to have a female candidate, and she's the only real option on the Democratic side.
I think Snowe on the Republican ticket is rather less likely than Rodham Clinton on the Democratic one, really - and unfortunately. She'd be a formidable candidate in the general, but it does seem like a long shot for her to win the Republican primaries.
My own thoughts on the election results

Do you think Republicans got the message, or will it take one more unnecessary defeat? *NM*

Good points all. Somehow I don't really think they'll take them to heart any time soon, though...

Biden hinted he was thinking about running. But he looks older, so that might benefit her.

Well there has been a slightly more important US politics story for the media to cover of late

Snowe? Seriously? Chris Christie is far more likely.

Chris Christie *was* far more likely. I expect his party to eat him alive after Sandy.

Yes, but Christie gained the respect of a lot of moderates for that.

Enough of them vote to ensure a Christie victory in a GOP primary.

Has been seen as not entirely Republican for quite a while, I think.

Dems went through this a generation ago when Reagan branded extremists and made "liberal" a slur

It will be interesting whether the GOPs financiers convince its primary voters you are right.
