To them God wouldn't make an injust world where a women would have to choose to kill her unborn child to save her own life. It just wouldn't happen for it does happen the world and thus God is unjust.
And if for someone reason this situation actually does occurs in the world the women was a sinner, or it was a test by God to test the women's faith, or it was part of God's plan somehow the baby will survive but the mother does not and this was God's plan...
Pretty much it is end cognitive dissonance. People don't want to believe in reality for reality is mean. Thus they say stupid things.

Same thing with the Rape situation it was either god's plan for you to have a rape baby or that God would never allow you to actually get pregnant based on rape for that would be injust, God has endowed your vagina with magic rape sperm destroying abilities. (Of course God just preventing rape in the first place makes more sense then magic vaginas that God gives the pure in heart.)
